The Arkansas 811/Pipeline Awareness class originally scheduled for April has been moved to July 11th, 5:30 PM at the Watalula Rural Fire Department.

5/2/2022 – Chapter 2 Communications 2hrs. 6/6/2022 – Chapter 3 Building Construction 2 hrs. 7/11/2022- Chapter 16 Building Materials & Collapse 2 hrs. 8/1/2022 Chapter 6 Portable Fire Extinguishers 2 hrs.
Classes on Saturdays:
4/16/2022 – Chapter 20 Fire Origin & Cause 4 hrs. and Chapter 4 Fire Dynamics 4 hrs.
5/14/2022 – Chapter 11 Tactical Ventilation 12 hrs.
6/11/2022 – Chapter 12 Fire Hose 12 hrs.
7/16/2022 – Chapter 19 Incident Scene Operations 8 hrs.
All classes are AFA, and applications must be submitted 2 weeks prior to class.
The Saturday classes will be one day, and all material will be covered.

Chief Frank Theising of the Watalula RFD will present the Arkansas Fire Academy (AFA) Emergency Vehicle Driving class at the Altus Fire Department. The date is June 11, with classroom instruction underway at 8:00 AM, and the driving portion taking place in the afternoon.
Application for this class must be submitted 2 weeks prior to class.

The Watalula Rural Fire Department will be hosting the following Arkansas Fire Academy (AFA) classes:
April 14 – Fire Extinguishers 6:00 PM at Watalula RFD
May 12 – Safety & Health and Scene Lighting (Two separate classes, same night) 6: 00 PM, Watalua RFD.
All applications for AFA classes must be submitted 2 weeks prior to class.

Incident Command System (ICS) advanced classes, G-300 and G-400 will be offered in our area at the Van Buren Police Department in September.
G-300 will be offered Monday September 26th through Wednesday September 28th from 08:00 to 17:00.
G-400 will be offered Thursday September 29th through Friday September 30th from 08:00 to 17:00.

Prerequisites for the class: Student must have a valid FEMA SID number and have completed ICS-100, 200, 700, and 800.

At present, National Weather Service 2022 Storm Spotter Training is being offered virtually. If you would like to attend one of these virtual classes, follow the directions in this link: https://www.weather.gov/tsa/spotter_training
These free classes are open to all responders, amateur radio operators, and the public at large. There is no charge for taking one of these or even all should you so desire.
