Johnson County will be hosting a two-evening Arkansas Forestry Division Wildland Firefighter class on Monday September 28th, and Tuesday September 29th, 2026. The location for the class is in Clarksville in the OEM training room at 215 West Main Street. Class hours are from 18:00 to 22:00 hours each evening. Call 479-774-0128 to reserve a seat. Per AFD do NOT bring along minor children to the class.
Please note: This course does not qualify participants as certified wildland firefighters, but it provides essential background and context for working alongside Forestry Division crews.
To receive a certificate of completion for the introductory wildland firefighting class, participants must:
- Attend the entire course
- Complete and pass an end-of-course test
- Demonstrate understanding of course materials
